Running has grown in popularity recently with people of all ages and levels of ability taking up the challenge. From Brighton Marathon, Half Marathons (like the Beacon Half Marathon) through to charity runs like the Race for Life, event running is more popular than ever.  There are lots of sites on the web with advice and training programs to help you reach your desired goal but many runners will start to experience problems along the way.
