I
am a member of the Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage (ISRM)
and BABTAC. I have lived in Brighton for 15 years and set up
Natural Balance Therapies in 2004. I am also a part time lecturer in
Business Studies on the University of Brighton's Foundation Degree
in Complementary Healthcare.
Before becoming a Complementary therapist I worked for several years for large companies including British Airways and the Burton Group. More recently I worked as a Membership advisor at Alive Fitness & Natural Health, one of Brighton's independent gyms.
Natural Balance has recently moved to fantastic new premises in The Drive in Hove. With this move I am expanding the business, taking on new therapists and creating a relaxed environment designed around you, the customer.
If you have any suggestions about how the Natural Balance experience could be improved don't hesitate to send me an e-mail.

My interest in massage first started whilst travelling in
Asia in the late 80's. On my return to England I studied massage
with The London College of Massage, which at that point offered
one of the most comprehensive massage courses in England. On
completion of the course I was asked to stay on and work as a
practitioner for the college. At this time I also set up my own
private practice in London, working with both private
individuals and large international companies, massaging their
staff. These include AOL, Radio Times and Redwood Publishing
amongst others.
Over the past 20 years I have continued to study and learn new skills, keeping ahead of changes happening within the industry, these include advanced techniques for Pregnancy Massage, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, Hot Stone Massage and Trigger Point Therapy. I also regularly attend courses and workshops focusing on different aspects of treatment such as RSI or using massage to help people who are suffering with CFS or ME.

Hi, I've been a massage therapist since 2000 and specialised in Thai / therapeutic massage since 2005. I will work with you to achieve optimum health so you get the best quality of life possible. Over a number of sessions I will remove your muscle tension, reduce your pain, improve your flexibility and posture. I offer Thai massage treatments working on the energy lines using acupressure and yoga-style stretches done fully clothed on a comfortable mat. I incorporate 'Osteo-Thai' which combines gentle oscillatory osteopathic techniques with Thai massage to produce a dynamic, rocking treatment which enhances joint mobility and aids recovery. I also offer Swedish and deep tissue massage if you'd prefer a treatment done on a couch using oil. Your treatment will be tailored to your needs so you get the best results. I treat a range of conditions such as sciatic pain, headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, lower back pain, frozen shoulder, knee pain, neck pain, repetitive strain injuries, rotator cuff injuries, sleep disorders, digestive issues, plus many more. If your health is good I can still help to improve your posture, muscle tone, stress and energy levels, and help your body to flush out toxins.
I am a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists, Traditional Thai Yoga Massage Association, and International Council of Holistic Therapists. I regularly do yoga, pilates and tai chi, bringing balance and knowledge of body dynamics to my treatments. I follow a programme of continuous professional development to keep up with the latest developments with massage and bodywork, training in the UK and Thailand.

I have been working with complementary therapies since 1999 and have a passion for Traditional Chinese Medicine and advanced therapeutic massage. I have travelled
extensively both in the UK and overseas to learn the best techniques to help my patients restore a sense of health and vitality.
I like to fuse together specialist techniques of deep tissue and clinical massage, acupressure and acupuncture which I have studied over the last 10-years at some of the
UK’s leading massage institutions and overseas, including the Shandong University in China.
As a qualified acupuncturist, I am also able to introduce needles to my treatments which can powerfully enhance the benefits and results.
Having such a wide range of skills, every person I see is given a detailed consultation before we agree how best to work together to achieve the best results. In my therapeutic work, I have treated people with all manner of aches and pains including, back neck and shoulder pain, sciatica, hip, lumbar knee and ankle problems. As a member of the Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage, I have also had extensive experience of treating runners and sports enthusiasts and have had great results when treating a wide range of ailments including rotator cuff, knee and hamstring injuries as well as more complex problems such as plantar fasciitis.
I passionately believe in rehabilitative exercise and am a real advocate of yoga. I am currently working towards my yoga teacher/therapist training which will see me travelling to the US in 2011.
